Masala Kitchen’s Kati Rolls offer delicious options at any time of the day. 3. Ekta Indian Cuisine

106 S 40th St, Philadelphia, PA 19104, United States

With three locations, Ekta serves its neighbors exactly what they desire – for me, that means mutter paneer, chicken tikka masala, and mango lassi! Their Fishtown location seems to alternate between being empty and overrun with patrons at any one time; though I understand this may be due to running takeout/delivery/eat-in operations all simultaneously; their staff remain pleasant even during times when things can get busy; also available are 250 East Girard Avenue; 106 South 40th Street 1003 1/2 West Lancaster Avenue

4. Veda Modern Indian Bistro

1920 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19103, United States

Before Veda’s debut, many attempts at modern, white tablecloth Indian food in Center City failed miserably. Now with Veda as its vanguard of an Indian revival in Philly may finally succeed! Serving up a delicious tandoori salad, Calcutta pork ribs slathered with mango chutney, lamb vindaloo, and amazing naan bread; Veda offers casual lunch combos, happy hour deals, and an evening menu that uses Indian flavors without being overly traditional; 1920 Chestnut Street.

5. Tiffin Indian Cuisine

1100 Federal St, Philadelphia, PA 19147, United States

Tiffin, one of Philly’s original Indian restaurants, has experienced an intriguing evolution over its 25-year existence. Beginning as an online-only delivery service (hence its name) before Doordash and Postmates became mainstream services, Tiffin eventually transformed into what founder Munish Narula refers to as a “multi-platform restaurant,” providing dine-in, take-out delivery as well as spinoff operations like Indo-French Tashan (R.I.P) and Tiffin Bistro with bar service thrown in; currently it boasts 10 locations on both sides of Delaware — making it accessible entry points into Indian cuisine as well as being reliable standbys when craving some tasty Indian food on Tuesday nights!
